To meet the customer’s requirement for producing both stair columns and column caps, we developed a custom injection molding machine.
This machine features an adjustable injection carriage, allowing it to fulfill diverse production needs while saving equipment costs.
This custom injection molding machine is designed to produce two types of acrylic products: stair columns and column caps. The injection mold gate positions for these products are different one is normal in the central and the other is lower:
(1) Column Caps: Standard mold design with a conventional injection gate position.
(2) Acrylic Columns: The injection gate is located at the bottom, requiring a lower injection unit height.
The acrylic columns are designed with space for LED light’s installation, which create a beautiful effect when illuminated, especially at night. These products are commonly used in clubs, hotels, lobbies, and luxurious homes.
The customer wanted to use a single injection molding machine to produce both products. To achieve this, we designed a machine with an adjustable injection unit.
(1) Space Optimization: The space beneath the injection unit, traditionally occupied by the power system (e.g., motor, pump), was reorganized to accommodate the new design.
(2) Frame Modification: The machine frame was reinforced to ensure stable operation during height adjustments.
This solution allows the customer to use one machine for two different products, maximizing cost efficiency and production flexibility.
